Everyone does something they regret when they are young and stupid.

Thanks to advances in medical science, it's easy to undo some of them.

I mean, I've definitely done a lot of stupid things when I was younger, but right now I'm talking about my tattoo. I'm getting it removed.

Yeah, I have a terrible tattoo on my right shoulder. Of a cat.I got it 4 years ago. Not only was the idea stupid, but I didn't really go in with a clear plan of what I wanted, so the tattoo artist pretty much just straight-up botched my tattoo. My cat has TWO ASSES, if you look closely. Up until recently, it never really bothered me because it's usually covered up so few people actually see it. (For some reason, the ones that do don't look very closely and usually they just say, "aww! how cute, it's a kitty cat!") I didn't really give it any more thought than how someone with a strange birthmark might.

So what changed my mind?

I went wedding dress shopping. And a crappy tattoo just does not go with an expensive wedding gown, especially a strapless one, you know what I mean?

For those of you who are curious - no, this is not the wedding dress I ended up buying. If you're interested though, it's the "Reese" by Maggie Sottero.

I've never been able to find good information on how a tattoo fades between sessions, particularly on Asian skin, so I figured I should post pictures and updates on my laser tattoo removal treatment.

It's only been about 5 days, so no big difference yet - it takes about 6 weeks before a the pigment broken up by a session is cleared away by the body. My next appointment is in August.

The red marks are from the injections of lidocaine before they zapped me with the laser. I was told by other people that getting a tattoo removed hurts more than getting it in the first place, but it really wasn't that bad at all - I was numbed up, so I could barely feel anything at all, just light tapping. After the anesthetic wore off though, it felt like 500 paper cuts. Annoying, but bearable. I'll post another picture at 6 weeks, before I go in for my second session! I don't expect to be able to remove the tattoo completely before my wedding (I estimate I'll need about 9 sessions) but I want it to fade enough to so I can at least cover it up makeup.

(Oh, and the wedding dress I ended up buying has a sheer illusion lace back so the tattoo would have been even more horrendous.)

Bonus: here's a picture of me all sweaty and gross after a day on the set of American Reunion. This is the red lipstick by Wet and Wild I was raving about earlier - amazing lasting power! It rubs off a bit when you eat/drink of course, but it also stains your lip and fades evenly so you don't have that funny looking ring around your lips at the end of the day. The color is Red Velvet 910D from Wet 'n Wild's MegaLast line. I seriously like it more than any of the red lipsticks I've ever bought from MAC. I also have Stoplight Red 911D which is darker and more blue-based, but I prefer how bright and fresh this one looks.

  9. @Terri - it's the "Chantilly" by Claire Pettibone! I love lace dresses, and that was actually the first dress I pulled from the rack! I actually went in looking for the Maggie Sottero "Bernadette" which is a similar style lace dress, but the sample they had didn't look so great on me.
