Sally Hansen Gem Crush polish in Big Money

It's been a long, long time since a polish has been unique enough to really capture my attention, but I saw this at CVS today and just HAD to have it. I'll admit that I've been lax lately when it comes to keeping myself perfectly coiffed at all times - I've been keeping the same chipped red manicure on for the past two weeks. Oh the horror. But seriously, this polish is gorgeous - light neutral gold microglitter with larger lavender hex glitter. Overall effect on the nail is a pinkish nude shade, very flattering.

I'm going to Vegas for my bachelorette party this Friday and I wanted to pick a blingy nailpolish that wouldn't look TOO terrible if I got a few chips or a little edge wear during my weekend of debauchery. I think this fits the bill! I did one coat of Zoya Zara (a gold-tinged purple) with one coat of this on top, sealed with Seche Vite. I was hoping to bring out the pinkish-gold undertones and boost the opacity a little bit - in my experience, multiple layers of thick glitter polish = premature chipping. It looks a little sparse in macro mode, but coverage looks pretty good anywhere from 6" away from your face. I doubt anyone will be examining my nails that closely. Hopefully this will hold up!

In other news I also picked up one of those Maybelline Color Tattoo eye shadows everyone's been raving their butts off about, in Tough as Taupe. Played with it a little, but not enough to draw a full opinion on it quite yet. I think I like it though - it's like a more opaque/easier to work with version of MAC Copperplate.
